January

YOUX

The event will center around strategies for enhancing wellness and coping with stress, including techniques for overcoming imposter syndrome, finding and utilizing mentorship and coaching resources, and promoting a healthy team dynamic through the sharing of power and decision-making.

February

UX360 Research Summit

The UX360 Research Summit for 2023 will be a virtual event held over two days, with plenty of presentations, panel discussions, and one-on-one meetings focused on user experience and design research.

The event will take place in the Eastern Daylight Time zone (8 am – 2 pm) and the Central European Time zone (2 pm – 8 pm). This conference is part of the QUAL360 global conference series, and tickets start at a modest $299.

March

Design Research

Location: Melbourne, Australia ?? & online ?‍?

Date: March 14 – 16, 2023 ?

Design Research 2023 will take place in marvelous Melbourne, Australia, but it’s also possible to attend virtually. The conference is scheduled for two full days and will feature presentations on various topics related to UX design and user research.

This year’s conference focuses on how design research can help us better understand, shape, and address large-scale issues, from the level of individual products and services and organizational structures to societal challenges such as climate change and inequality.

The conference will examine the various design research practices that UX professionals can utilize to address these challenges at all stages, including initial assessment, planning and execution, and analysis and implementation.

Online tickets for the event start at $550, while attendees can snap up early-bird conference passes for $650. Please note: Attendees must purchase workshop tickets (starting at $345) separately from the conference ticket.

QRCA Annual Conference

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, USA ??

The Qualitative Research Consultants Association (QRCA) is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2023 with an in-person conference in Charlotte, North Carolina. The QRCA annual conference typically strongly emphasizes market research but also covers all aspects of qualitative research, including UX research.

The conference’s theme is “Powering up for the future of qual.” It will explore innovative ways and research methods for observing, listening, interacting, and more. The in-person event will last for three days and include a variety of networking, connection, and discussion opportunities in smaller groups.

General admission tickets start from $545 for a 3-day conference pass. At that price point, the QRCA Annual Conference provides phenomenal value and will be one of the best UX conferences in 2023. 

Advancing Research

Location: Online ?‍?

Date: March 27 – 29, 2023 ?

The fourth edition of the Advancing Research conference, featuring talks and panels, will be held entirely online. The event is organized by Jemma Ahmed, Chris Geison, and the team at Rosenfeld Media and is focused on advancing research practices.

In addition to the main conference program, there will be an optional workshop day on March 30th. This workshop can be purchased in a bundle (conference + workshop) for $1,645, while prices start at $995 for the 3-day conference pass.

However, a 25% discount is available for those working in government, non-profit and educational fields. 

April

UX Insight Festival

Location: Breda, Netherlands ?? & online ?‍?

Date: April 17 – 19, 2023 ?

Europe’s most prominent user research conference is returning for its 7th edition. Attendees can choose to participate in person in the Netherlands or join virtually. In addition to talks and workshops, the UX Insight Festival offers interactive sessions that provide opportunities to make new research connections.

May

Barcamp Graz 2023

Location: Graz, Austria ??

Barcamp Graz returns for 2023. The agenda for the event will be created on the day of the event by all attendees. To accommodate as many participants as possible, there will be six breakout sessions running simultaneously. Attendees can secure a spot in any available slot, whether they have a prepared presentation or not, and can choose which sessions they wish to participate in. The options are flexible and attendees are free to decide which sessions they want to attend.

And maybe, if you’re lucky, you’ll bump into someone from Userbrain there!

#gamesUR Summit North America

Location: Seattle, Washington, USA ?? & online ?‍?

Date: May 25 – 26, 2023  ?

The #gamesUR Summit North America 2023 will be held in person and as an online event. While the specific program remains unannounced, the theme for this year’s event is ‘Community.’ Perhaps one of the most niche UX events of the year, #gamesUR takes a place as one of the best UX conferences in 2023.

UXPA International

UXPA International is organized by the User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA), which champions World Usability Day and supports researchers and designers.

UXcon Vienna

Uxcon Vienna 2023 focuses on UX research and UI design. Held in Vienna, Austria, the conference’s third edition aims to “provide professional exchange and build a bridge between the European UX scene and pioneers in the US.” The generous conference pass includes access to two days of conference sessions and the opportunity to participate in plenty of workshops and exciting side events.

October

World Usability Congress

The World Usability Congress is a two-day international conference for UX experts and it’s one of the top events to attend. The conference invites over 40 speakers from various industries to present their real-world UX challenges and engage in multidisciplinary workshops with the attendees, which makes WUC one of the best UX conferences in 2023.

George UX Conference

Designed by designers for designers, Erste Group are bringing back the George UX Conference for another edition after an extraordinarily successful debut event last year. With extensive coverage of the hottest UX topics and over 250 designers in attendance, George UX Conference was certainly one of our highlights of 2022 and this year is lined up to blow the doors off of Erste Campus. With online tickets available and a packed schedule, this one-day UX conference is a must-see for 2023.
